We're Chris and Chelsea Derkach, the founders of Tandem Home Education. Both Arizona natives, we've called the West Valley home for over 23 years. Our family consists of four children: Grayson, who is twenty and soon to be married to Haley; Addison, eighteen and graduating high school this year and heading off to Impact 360, a missionary training school in Georgia; Jameson, fifteen and eager to take on the world behind the wheel; and Emmerson, nine going on twenty-nine, who thinks she rules the house! Over 15 years ago, Chris and I made the decision to homeschool our children. It wasn't always easy, and there were many sacrifices. Chris worked hard to provide, often working two jobs, while I worked hard to keep everything afloat at home.

Chris and I have a non-typical learner, and navigating that was especially challenging at times, but we all persevered. Today, our son is successful and is accomplishing all that God has placed in front of him. It's rewarding to see the fruits of our labor as our children are being obedient to God’s calling on their lives. Chris and I have witnessed firsthand the success of homeschooling in various ways. Our mission is to support families, guide them through their unique homeschooling journeys, and foster a community of support and belonging while sharing the love of Jesus along the way. This is what Tandem Home Education was created out of, and we are excited to be along for the ride as you navigate your unique journeys.
